Artists with works at this studio
Xenia Fink (b. 1979, Sao Paolo) was raised in Brazil and Mexico and studied design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle. After completing her MA in Illustration at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, she was Meisterschüler Fine Arts at Universität der Künste Berlin. Fink’s practice involves works on paper and installation and is mainly based on drawing. It began with a strong narrative, and now explores more open and abstract forms of storytelling which develop between the works of a series or the individual work and the viewer. Fink has received a grant from the Art Foundation Saxony-Anhalt and was selected for the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York. Her work has been shown in Berlin, Miami and New York and she has completed on-site installations in Germany and Mexico. Recently she had her second solo exhibition at Morgen Contemporary, Berlin and currently shows at the Vini Foundation in Venice. Xenia Fink lives and works in Berlin.
Jinny Yu (b. 1976, Seoul) is based in Ottawa and Venice and received her Master of Fine Arts in 2002 from the York University, Toronto, Canada. Jinny Yu “challenges more than the concept of painting. Her work questions the very existence of predisposed artistic practices as she blurs the lines between methodology and ideology. Oscillating between the fields of abstract painting and the object, Yu seeks out aspects of painting beyond the pictorial space, striving to depict that which is beyond the image.” Yu’s most recent project Don’t They Ever Stop Migrating? is exhibited during the 56th Venice Biennale at Nuova Icona. Her work has been widely shown, including exhibitions in Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, UK and the US. She was an artist in residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York, Nanji Art Studios in Seoul, and the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada.
