Artists with works at this studio

Daniel Permanetter (b. 1977, Starnberg) graduated from the Academy of fine arts in Munich, Germany as a Meisterschüler of Stephan Huber. Based on a strong reference to popular music his work takes on narrative structures and finds its form in single channel videos, room installations, spoken and written word and photographs. In recent years he introduced the icon Bob Dylan as a character into his work; an attempt to develop a metaphor for an artistic and deeply human longing to create meaning. And to reflect the failure of most attempts to achieve this. This underlying image of desire is interwoven with odd, poetic and emotional narratives that shift in their subject from work to work. He received prizes and awards of institutions including Akademieverein München, Bayerisches Staatsministerium, DAAD and Start Point Prize, Czech Republic. He was artist in residency in Galerie Klatovy/Klenová, Museum of Modern Art, Czech Republic and International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York, USA. Daniel Permanetter lives and works in Berlin.

Peter Gregorio (b. USA) received an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, New York. He works in painting, video, photography, installation, and performance, creating pieces and experiences that remix given architecture with new cultural landscapes and contemporary ideas in cosmology. In working to conceptualize information theory and connect forms of interdisciplinary knowledge through artistic practice, Gregorio uses conversations with Theoretical Cosmologists, Science Fiction Writers, and Experimental Musicians, as research for his ongoing body of work. Gregorio is the recipient of many awards; the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award, and the Paula Rhodes Award among others. His work has been the subject of several exhibitions in the USA and internationally. His videos have been screened in Oslo, London and in the Northampton International Film Festival. Upcoming shows will be at Schaufenster Berlin & MoMA, PS1 in New York. Gregorio is also Founder & Editor of VECTOR Productions and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

David Maroto (b. 1976, Spain) holds an MFA degree from the Dutch Art Institute and is currently carrying out a PhD research in Edinburgh College of Art. His work develops creative strategies to facilitate the participation of the spectator in the reception of the work. Enhancing his active role is a tool to achieve a deeper engagement, which gives more room for the generation of new interpretations of the artwork. His approach is eminently multidisciplinary, although it always turns around the same interests (games, narratives, psychoanalysis) and obsessions (subjectivity, numerology, circles, process and change). In 2011 Maroto spent a residency in ISCP New York, where he met curator Joanna Zielinska and begun their collaboration The Book Lovers, a long-term project focused on artist novels with the support of international art organizations like MHKA, Antwerp; de Appel, Amsterdam; Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw; Fabra i Coats Centre d’Art Contemporani , Barcelona and Sternberg Press, among others. David Maroto is currently based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
