Dr. Sarah Goodrum, Editor in Chief
Sarah Goodrum is a writer, editor, lecturer, and art historian (PhD University of Southern California, August 2015) based in Berlin, Germany. She specializes in the history of photography, history and art history of the Cold War, German and more generally Central European art. She is currently teaching history and theory at the BTK University of Art and Design, Berlin. Her dissertation project, “The Problem of the Missing Museum: The Construction of Photographic Culture in the GDR,” examines the culture of exhibition for photographs and the numerous attempts to imagine, construct, and manipulate the history of photography and the concept of the photography museum in the German Democratic Republic. She has worked in various roles in trade and academic publishing and has published writing in venues like Bookpage, Los Angeles Magazine online, Zeithistorische Forschungen, and Afterimage. She’s been funded by the Conference Group for Central European History, DAAD, the Borchard Foundation, the Fulbright Program, and the American Association of University Women (AAUW).



Astrid Honold, MA, German Editor
is a German art historian focusing on artistic practice and the application of photography in painting. She is the founder and editor in chief of Black Cat Publishing and director of OFCA International foundation, a cultural platform in Yogyakarta. Her master thesis ‘Blur in Motion’ (Freie Universität Berlin) she wrote on blurring as a mediating movement in the work of German painter Gerhard Richter. In her PhD dissertation ‘Knight Moves to Remis’, for which she was awarded the State of Berlin’s Elsa-Neumann full research grant, she investigates the structural influence of chess theory and practice on the organization of Marcel Duchamp’s oeuvre. In 2016 research articles on the topic will be published in France and the UK. She curates exhibitions internationally.
